i've been listening to a lot of my parents' music lately. (if you like the eagles, journey, reo speedwagon, billy joel, and john mellencamp then you'll like this Golden playlist that mom helped me put together.) she even texted me, "omg... i just wanna go back to my college apartment now and have a keg party"
...don't we all, though, Lori?
i've had a lot of fun rediscovering the songs that were always there in the background of my childhood. the songs from family road trips, backyard pool parties, and yes, even guitar hero. thank you mom and dad for making it an unofficial family rule to know the full lyrics to Scenes from an Italian Restaurant. i feel cultured as hell and i'm not sure why it took me so long to appreciate how truly golden the classics can be.
Karl (the fog) has been lingering over the bay more often than not lately, but I've still had a lot of sunny days.
Since I've settled in the city, I've found myself a little here and a little there --
sailing the bay (a top favorite adventure!!!!!)
playing "Sweet or Sour" while on a denim themed trolley crawl
nomming on mom's cinnamon rolls on the couch at home (alongside the pups)
probably sticking my tongue out too often while intoxicated in bars
initiating the first game of pong for the summer in our little "backyard"
finding signs that i'm right where i'm supposed to be
But mostly, i'm just gonna try to keep hanging out in the sunshine... taking it easy ツ
During our sailboat excursion, our captain played the song, San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers In Your Hair) and I think I played it on repeat for the next week straight. Scott McKenzie was right -- i've met some amazing people here.
